South Asian society...

Question1: “Why are you late in the class?”
Answer: “South Asian punctuality.”
Question 2: “why can’t you think out of the box and why do you have to do what everybody’s doing?”
Answer: “South Asian mentality”
Being a south Asian I can keep on blaming south Asia for the drawbacks I have in my personality and that will all be justified because as south Asian I am licensed to play the ‘Blame Game’.
We see, common people blaming people in power, people in power blaming people in politics, people in politics blaming each other and so on. Everyone is too scared to take any responsibility for their own behavior. And this is very prominent in our society.
We however, are a multicultural and a diverse society, with diverse cultures, religions and socio economic background, this I truly believe can be our strength but is unfortunately our weakness as we see no unity in this diversity. Blame for this goes onto our former colonizers, the British who had the policy of ‘divide and rule’ hence, since then we see ourselves divided. This is how convenient it is for us to play the Blame Game! :P
South Asia is blessed with natural resources or natural landscapes. Natural resources are in abundance in Baluchistan and natural landscapes are present from mountains to plateaus, to lakes to sea shores.  But we still don’t utilize these and in spite of being independent state we still rely on superpowers to explore them for us.
However, in spite of all this there is one thing which I strongly believe we have and the west doesn’t. That treasure is the strong social support, particularly family support that an individual has in south Asian society. More psychological problems occur in west because to deal with psychological problems one requires a family support system and south Asia is blessed with that.
We, south Asian people can be emotionally charged easily and if we are provided with a vision, we are determined enough to give our lives for that, so all we need is a direction and understanding of our goal.
Go South Asia go J
