Abstract:

This Documentary will attempt to focalize Pakistan Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Karachi, and its efforts in way of upholding animal rights. It will explore the organization’s aim of creating a just and equitable relationship between humans and animals in the city.

The Documentary’s purpose is to clear the misconception that the realm of Social Policy is human specific. It will shed light on the fact that social welfare is equally inclusive of animal and human welfare. In addition, it will underline the dire need to realize that animals, like human beings, are sentient creatures that experience joy and feel pain, and are entitled to legal protection.

PS: Members of the group are fully aware that PAWS is a globally recognized organization. It still remains to be choice number 1 since the group mutually feels the urge to bring the organization’s much sidelined cause in the city of Karachi to the forefront.

‘The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.’
- Mahatma Gandhi
