Karachi previously known as kolachi, was a state only meant for trade. This formerly British occupied state portrays a very different image now. Today, kolachi, the free port has changed into Karachi, a state where politics is categorized as a vital part. Political party spars leave hundreds dead. A battlefield where people fight for power and money but lose reputation instead. A secular state is pushed into forced islamization, where controversies kill innocent and bombs detonate like fire crackers. Media reality resembles more of reality shows running on television. Weapons and prostitutes are easier to find than lollypops. The richer you are the safer you live. Still everyone survives in Karachi. Karachi is the city of lights but on the contrary electricity short fall is something very customary, but I don’t know if its patriotism or allegiance that karachittes abroad still want to return to Karachi, may be because of the standard of living or to have a better entertainment life. But today we’ve lost all the battles and games so what to do now? How to make a difference. How to make Karachi a better place to live. We need a revolution or a marvel to drift on the safer and more secure side. But don’t terrorists consider themselves as revolutionaries? There is a thin line between terrorist and revolutionist. Promoting revolution means promoting terrorism because terrorist organizations consider themselves as revolutionaries. If it is so then we are promoting extremism and terrorism. We need to make our roots strong and start from graze. Educating the population and taking care of them should be our prime motive rather than getting into a money earning pursuit.
